Is this treatment painful?

Most people find this treatment extremely tolerable. We also try to maximize your comfort by applying a topical numbing agent or a local anesthetic before the procedure. You may experience tenderness post treatment and if this occurs, you may take tylenol and apply an ice pack.

Are there any side effects to this treatment?

Like all injections, common side effects include swelling and tenderness which usually resolves within a few days. Bruising is also a possible side effect which can last about a week.

What can I expect after my treatment and what are some common side effects?

Most people can go back to work the same day and experience minor side effects. Expect some minor swelling which can be minimized by applying an ice pack. Like any injections, bruising is also a possible side effect. Research shows that arnica can help reduce bruising. If you experience tenderness, you may take some Tylenol. Bruising and minor swelling usually goes away after a few days but can persist for a week.

Are there any special instructions for lip treatments?

The filler that is injected into your lips is malleable for up to two weeks. This is why we recommend not to do anything that could potentially move the product such as using a straw or massaging your lips.
